Classroom Friendly Supplies Review

Pencil Sharpeners are such a necessity when you have kids, especially in school. I used to never keep pencils in the house, mainly due to the fact that small handheld pencil sharpeners don't work well, hurt your hands, and you can never get a sharp tip. Now that I have a son who needs to write his name and other things for school, I don't want him learning only with crayons and markers because it is not realistic.

So, when I first received my sharpener from Classroom Friendly Supplies, I was pretty excited to test it out on some very dull pointed pencils. These sharpeners are set up a bit differently then a typical sharpener that I grew up with. There is a reason for this though, having the piece that pulls out away from the sharpener, makes it so you have a sharper tip on the end of your pencil. When I first sharpened a pencil I went to use it, and it was comparable to writing with a mechanical pencil, the tip was so fine. There are two pieces of plastic on the top that you squeeze together to stick the pencil in, which holds it the pencil in place.

My son wanted to give it a try, and I figured why not? It is a chance for him to get some practice. We pulled out every single dull pencil we could find, and spent our day sharpening pencils. He loved it. The only thing it didn't do great at was some of my older color pencils, I don't know if it was because of the age of them (they were OLD) or if it was because it was not graphite. But twice I had issues. And that was still an easy fix each time.

Below are the directions on how to use the sharpener:

Personal Chef To Go Review and Giveaway!

Being a busy mom, I love things that will make meal time for my husband or I much easier. We have tried a few different food delivery services, and nothing has compared to Personal Chef To Go. I am willing to admit, especially after a day spent at the clinic with my oldest, I don't want to come home and prepare a healthy happy meal for every one. These nights, my kids get to pick their meals, which is usually the typical kids favorites. Which then means, Mom and Dad are left either eating kids favorites, or with Personal Chef To Go, a nice delicious and healthy meal.

The thing I love the most about Personal Chef To Go, is that I don't have to do any of the prep work at all. There is no trying to follow a recipe. Which can be fun, I do love to cook, but on some nights I just want to rest after an exhausting day. You get to pull one of these prepackaged meals out of your refrigerator, and just follow some very simple instructions. Reheating in the microwave in just minutes. I was so skeptical at first, because I am not one to like the typical "tv dinner" I thought the food was going to be flavorless, I was completely wrong. The first meal I tried was the Grilled Chicken Breast Saltimbocca. This came with green beans, and my fear beyond lack of flavor was, are these green beans going to have any crunch to them? I hate mushy green beans. I was so happy that everything was not only perfectly seasoned, the green beans tasted like they had just been made fresh after being picked from the garden.

My husband is a big eater, and didn't believe that one of these meals would fill him up. I told him he really needed to try one. He decided the Savory Mongolian Pork Stir Fry. He was so surprised, that not only was it delicious. He was full before he even finished the meal

The other thing I really appreciate about these meals, is since my husband had to switch his shifts at work. He is no longer home to eat dinner with us. And I hate that he is always stuck reheating our leftovers. When he doesn't want to eat the dinners I have made, or wants to have something different even for lunch at work. It is much easier for him to grab one of these meals, and just go.

With Personal Chef To Go, you don't get stuck with only some meals that you are going to like. You can chose from a huge variety of meals every week. Which is great. So if you are not into fish, you don't have to worry about it. They make sure you are getting meals you want. And their menu is actually quite huge every week. It makes it so nice. They deliver so quickly. These would also be great for single people who are working. I know when I was single I had a huge problem with eating healthy, because cooking for one can be a pain. Any one with any kind of busy schedule these are great.

Organic Slammers Snack Superfood Pouches Review

I am constantly looking for snacks that I can take on the go for my kids. We do a lot of traveling and have a lot of long doctors appointments. So when I was able to check out Organic Slammers, I was super excited. My kids were even more excited when they seen the boxes on the counter and were ready to try them out immediately.

I gave each kid one of each flavor to try. They both have their favorite flavors. Awesome, is a mixture of: Bananas, Blueberries, Strawberries, Beets, Acai, and Amaranth. This one both my kids loved immediately. I tried some of theirs just to test it out. And it really was delicious. You don't taste the earthy flavor of beets at all. It just taste like a fruit sauce. My youngest son who is two actually favored this flavor.

Next, I gave them the Pomegranate Grape Crush, which has 7 grams of Protein per pouch. The flavors in this pouch are: Grape, Pomegranate, Coconut, Apple, Banana, and Purple Carrot. I want to be completely honest. Because of my lack of reading before giving them to my boys, they were not super impressed. These ones taste WAY better if you refrigerate them. Once they were actually cold, my boys both liked them. My only personal downfall is I had to tell my oldest that he had to ask me before getting this particular one because he needs medication to have proteins. But, that is just me personally. I tried this one too, I could really taste the grape, and a hint of coconut. It wasn't bad at all cold. These have been helpful on the days that my oldest is not wanting to eat anything but fruits and vegetables.

The last flavor we received to try out was Amped. The flavors in this pouch are: Apples Strawberries, Cherries, Chia and Purple Carrot. My oldest LOVES this one. He tries to sneak and get them. And at four has now figured out how to open them alone. I am completely fine with him grabbing for a Slammer Pouch, verses candy or junk food he could be going for. My younger son also enjoyed this flavor. He is just not as much as an apple lover as my oldest.

These have been great for on the go morning snacks. My four year old if he gets up in the middle of the night, and wants to find a late night snack. (It is really five in the morning, but we try to tell him it is still the middle of the night. In hopes to get just a little bit more rest) He has asked for these. I wouldn't leave them in your car in extreme heat or cold, but throw a few in your diaper bag, or take them when you know its going to be a while. The pouch is great and causes much less mess in your car or out and about. If you would like to find out about these flavors, and other great flavors from Organic Slammers, please click here.

Pereg-Gourmet Review

Having kids, I really want them to eat healthy. The kids on the other hand always want to have sweets, and snacks and unhealthy things. So as a parent, I like to find a great compromise. With that being said, I found Pereg-Gourmet and I was so excited to try them. They definitely make great products that help a family with a nice healthier choice in snacks and meals.

My older son LOVES cereal. He tries to eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And even will try to ask for it for a snack. When we are at the store, he always wants the chocolate cereals or the ones that are filled with sugars and just plain not good for you. So finding the Quinoa Pops was great. He was so excited because he saw the brown box and knew it was chocolate, and saw the ice cream cone on the other one and knew they were for him. I gave him a bowl of the chocolate to try first, he loved it. I also tried it. It is small so easy for little or big mouths to eat it. And it taste great. Not overpowering sweet, but not bland either.  He also chowed down the next morning on the Vanilla pops as well.

My whole entire family raved over the raw bars. We told the kids, as I do with any type of bar, that it was a candy bar. So I let them pick from the pictures on them. Chocolate Coconut was my absolute favorite. My kids gobbled them all up with no problem. Even my husband was eating them and talking about how good they are. And he is a picky picky guy when it comes to his food sometimes.

I made up the baby quinoa with dinner one night, and after the initial "What is this?" questions, everyone gave it a try and I didn't hear one complaint. Plates were clean at the end of dinner it was fabulous.

Mrs. Renfro's review and giveaway!

I was given a choice of two wonderful products to review from Mrs. Renfro's. I am a huge salsa eater so I wanted to make sure that I checked out a salsa. And my husband loves barbecue sauce. He also has a love for very very hot things. So I chose one thing for each of us to try. I definitely was not disappointed, and neither was my husband.

I would like to first talk about the Mrs. Renfro's Roasted Garlic Salsa. I am a bit picky when I eat salsa. I don't like anything that is super processed. So I was skeptical going into this jar. Come to find out, this salsa is delicious. I also have had many problems in the past buying a salsa that is labeled garlic, not tasting like garlic. Mrs. Renfro's actually had a garlic flavor to it. You could also see chunks of garlic in it. I was super impressed. I may have ate this in just a few sittings. It was definitely a salsa that when my husband went to try, I gave him that side eye.
Some more facts about Mrs. Renfro's Salsa
  • Comes in a variety of flavors and heat levels to suit anyone’s taste buds
  • Fat-free and gluten-free (except the new Craft Beer Salsa)
  • Great as a flavor enhancer for recipes with all the ingredients you  need in a jar
  • Simplifies meal planning – every jar comes with a simple and tasty recipe right on the jar
  • Cooking videos show consumers how to cook delicious and healthy meals with salsa.

Next, I would like to talk to you about the Mrs. Renfro's Ghost Pepper Barbecue sauce. When my husband found out we had a new barbecue sauce in the house to try. He said it was time to grill some chicken. And even though it wasn't snowing that day, it was cold enough for snow. He went out and started the grill while I thawed out some chicken breast for him to grill up. My biggest fear was that he was going to get the barbecue sauce on the kids food, but he was safe and did a great job. We both tried some before cooking it. It definitely has a kick to it. It was much hotter to me then my husband, because I can not handle spice as well as he can. But it wasn't so bad that I needed to down a gallon of milk or anything. I also made sure to try a piece of chicken with it cooked on there to see if there was a flavor change at all. My husband said his favorite thing about this barbecue sauce is that it didn't have a vinegar flavor like most barbecue sauces with heat added into them. He has been using this jar as an excuse to make things on the grill. He has also tried it on ribs, as well as a topping for his hamburgers. He tries to put it on as much as he can.

You can find Mrs. Renfro's in most grocery retailers, and also here.

BODYARMOR Super drink Review

I couldn't of received BODYARMOR drinks at a better time. My family had all just went through the stomach flu, all of us were dehydrated. And my sons were having a problem getting drinks that they wanted to put into their bodies. I said, "Pick from one of these." So each child picked a different flavor. Before I let them have any I decided to taste test. I wanted to know what was going in their bodies.

I definitely expected BODYARMOR to be like any typical "sports drink" that you can buy from the gas station. I was so surprised when I tasted each of my kids drinks. They don't taste the same. "Sports drinks" from the gas station always have left a film in my mouth. These tasted so much better, there was no gross film left in my mouth. No colored tongues from all the artificial colors added to the drink. BODYARMOR is naturally sweet, naturally flavored, and has no added dyes to it. So it is naturally delicious.

I have tried almost every flavor now. My kids ask for this rather then the juice or asking for "pop" which is what they call koolaid. I feel so much better having this in the house for the family to drink rather then having them drink all the artificial sugars and flavors.

Vegan Rob's Review

My family is not vegan. But I do love having vegan friendly snacks around for my kids to snack on. Anything I can do to make sure they have more vegetables is great in my opinion. And why not something that looks like their favorite snacks.

So finding Vegan Rob's seemed to be perfect for what I needed for my kids. They are constantly wanting snacks. And puffs and chips are some of their favorite things. So when I received the package, they were all excited because they knew that those were bags of snacks. They immediately wanted to try some. So, since they were up for the challenge, and I know that my oldest hates brussel sprouts, that was my first choice. Both my kids, four and two, gobbled them right up. And then asked for more. I was so excited.

My husband was away when the package came, but he came home the next day and wanted to try all the flavors. He and I were both amazed that it doesn't have an overwhelming taste of just the vegetable. He really liked all the flavors he tried.

I next tried the tumeric chips and rice chips with salsa. It was so good. I think my favorite is the rice chips. They are so good. Have a great crunch.

Susan Brown's Baby Review

Being a mom can be tough. Finding good products with natural ingredients that are helpful to you and are good for your baby. We have had quite a few diaper rashes in our house with my oldest son having some bowel issues. And my youngest still in diapers, we always have diaper rash cream on hand. I received this right before I actually needed some for my two year old. It works so well. This luxurious cream contains 12.5% Zinc Oxide and a dermatologist tested array of rich botanical moisturizers INCLUDING OAT, CALENDULA, CHAMOMILE & SHEA BUTTER It isn't greasy and gross, it is nice and smooth and helped clear my sons rash up in just a day and a half.

We also received the foaming shampoo and body wash to try out. I used this on both my kids with no issues. Typically when we get items that say tear free, it is definitely not tear free. Which can cause so many issues in the bath tub. I had my four year old washing himself up, while I helped my two year old. My four year old ended up with some in his eyes, but with no crying. He said he was completely fine. It doesn't have an overly strong scent. This is PHTHALATE FREE, SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE FREE, PARABEN FREE, TEAR FREE, PH-BALANCED.

Rise Bar Review

My husband is always on the go constantly. And seems to never remember to eat something healthy before he leaves. I am so happy that we have found Rise Bars. They are high in protein, fifteen grams per serving. And they are delicious. They come in assorted flavors. My husband really enjoys the Chocolate Coconut, and the Almond Honey. Though he eats all of them.

These are great because I can throw them in his lunch box in the morning before he leaves for work. And he can have it on his way to work, or when he first gets in the office. I no longer have to worry about him hitting up the expensive and very unhealthy snacks in the vending machines.

All made with simple ingredients, you know that you are not eating processed junk food that is not going to keep you filled up.

Rise bars also have a mini bar out that are great for little ones when you need to make sure they are out on the go with you and need to have something to eat.

Bruce Cost Ginger Ale Review and Giveaway

In my home, my whole family loves ginger ale. We drink it when we are sick (we have had a lot of that in the last few weeks). And we love it anytime. Its typical for us to have some in our fridge at all times. So I was really excited when I found out about Bruce Cost Ginger Ale. Not only is BCGA made with real ginger, which you can see from the settling on the bottom. It also provides ten percent of your daily iron. Which is great!

We have had a terrible stomach bug mixed with an awful cold for the past week, so BCGA has come with open arms into my home. There are six different flavors which are:

  • Original
  • Blood Orange with Meyer Lemon
  • Passion Fruit with Tumeric
  • Pomegranate
  • Jasmine Tea
  • 66, which only has 66 calories.
My husband was a huge fan of the 66, and original. We did as instructed after getting them nice and cold in the fridge. The bottles all remind you to shake gingerly. It will mix up the ginger back in with the rest of the drink. My boys both loved the Blood Orange with Meyer Lemons. And my personal favorite was the Pomegranate. They all had a nice ginger flavor, and you could really taste the orange and pomegranate in the other two.

John Paul Pets Review and Giveaway

Any pet owner knows what kind of hassle it can be to buy your pets the right shampoo and conditioner. The stuff that isn't going to dry out their skin, and make them itch. The kind that is going to keep them soft. And lets not forget, the kind that is going to smell good.

Up until six months ago, I had only owned dogs that had thick fur, with an undercoat. And the only real problem I had with them were hot spots. Now since my little blue heeler had passed away earlier this year, and it was my husbands turn to pick a puppy. He of course picked a hybrid breed I know nothing about. We are now owners of a Saint Bermastiff named Diesel. He has a thin coat. No thick under coat like what I am used to with my little corgi heeler mix.

With new breeds, come new issues. I had tried giving him a bath because he is all over our furniture, and kids and I don't want him getting stinky. The first three things I bought for him left him itchy, skin was dry, and I could see his skin turning red. I felt so terrible because I was the reason I was doing this to my pup.

I then tried John Paul Pets Oatmeal Shampoo and Conditioning rinse on Diesel and it made such a difference in just the first use. His coat over the past few washes has become more and more soft and shiny. He is no longer itchy. Also, he no longer has red skin.

John Paul Pets have many other lines of pet shampoos and other things to help keep your dog clean, looking and smelling great. To check out these products and more click here.

OOFOS Review and Giveaway

Before becoming a stay at home mom, I worked in nursing homes, as well as group homes. I was on my feet constantly. I always had foot pain. It never ended, but I had to keep up and going for at least eight hours or more. It is the biggest complaint when working in the health care field that your feet by the end of the day are so sore. I know my husband has had the same problem in jobs he has had.

So when I found out about OOFOS, I was so excited to be able to try them out. Now, as a stay at home mom, I may not be on my feet all day, everyday, but days that I have to do hospital trips with my son, I spend a lot of time on my feet, and walking the halls of the hospital. Or every other week when I do my big grocery shopping trips, where I can spend up to three hours in the grocery store, going up and down every aisle, hunting every deal I can find. My feet will take a beating.

I decided to try these out on my last grocery trip. I felt skeptical, because in the past I have had so many different pairs of shoes that are memory foam, or supposed to give extra support. Even if for the first hour they feel good, after that they start to make my feet feel just as bad as the cheap shoes I have bought in the past. I put these on my feet, which to be honest in the moment I was super thankful they were slip ons. Two kids I have to get into shoes and coats, then try and get myself in the same before they are out the door. They immediately felt like heaven on my feet. So off we went to the store. I had a huge list, and I knew it was going to be a while.

While there I ended up taking with check out time just over three hours. In those three hours, I had to chase my two year old a few times. Wait to check for products in the back. And stand, ok, bounce around in the check out line because my feet still felt great. It feels like you are walking on air the whole entire time. There was no pain, no irritation from even having to break in a new shoe. Which lets be honest, is so annoying. The whole time it was just a great experience. I was so happy. And with them going on and off so quickly, I can put these on every day when I need to leave the house, without breaking down the heels or hurting myself at all.

I would recommend these shoes to anyone looking to make their feet not hurt at the end of the day. Anyone who has tried other shoes, that just don't work. You won't be disappointed. To check out the many styles of footwear that OOFOS has to offer, click here.
