Obol Review

Something I can not stand is soggy cereal. It is so gross after it has sat in the milk for more then just a few minutes. And when all you are craving is a bowl of cereal, it starts off great for the first few bites then of course it gets to that point where you are thinking, Why can't I just have a bowl of cereal with out it turning to mush. My kids waste a lot of cereal, because once it is mushy, they stop touching it.

I chose to try my Obol out with Raisin Bran, because lets be honest here, the bran gets soggy so fast! Though you can put some in the milk compartment, I knew that I was going to be traveling out of the kitchen with this bowl since it has an awesome hand grip. And I wanted to make sure I was the one who controlled my sogginess of my cereal.

I added the milk to the bowl. It sits just slightly lower then the cereal shelf. so you don't have to worry about milk spilling everywhere. Or your cereal going in the milk with out your doing so. There is a spiral slide design that lets you just slide what you want in with a spoon for maximum crunchiness.

A picture of the bowl upside down, so you could see the hand grip that is there. I carried the bowl to my room with ease. It is no lie. This grip is actually more useful then I expected it to be.

Janiebee Quilted Nap Mat Review

My kids do a lot of living room sleepovers in our house. At least twice a month we are having a movie night on "the big tv." On top of that, preschool requires you to have a pillow and blanket for your child there in our district. We have nap time at home, and lets not even get started on sleep overs at Grandmas house. The need for pillows and blankets are huge. And my kids can be really picky on what they are going to sleep on and with. When Janiebee allowed me to review one of their quilted nap mats, I was so excited.

When I was pregnant with my older son, I was actually gifted one of these for as he got older. I never realized until he was about two, how many uses these actually have. Our nap mat goes anywhere we go for any length of time. Family holidays or hanging out for a long time with family? These are great to have on hand if you need to have your little one take a nap. My older son will lay his out on his bed, still at almost five, and sleep with it at night. It as gone to school with him and everything else. And every one compliments it.

The issue, Dwayne didn't have one of his own. And heaven forbid he share with his brother. So I picked out the fire trucks print for Dwayne. This time, getting it embroidered so there could be no mistake about it. It is his.  When the package came Dwayne was so excited. I couldn't even get my camera out in time. He grabbed it from me and said, "Come on Jason." And off they went into the living room. He wanted to try it immediately. He was so excited! I ended up having both out for them and they laid and looked at books together and even settled down for a nap. Which in our house is very rare! I have to admit, these are both out in my living room right now. Night one, Dwayne had to sleep in his nap mat on his bed. Then he had to make sure it was laid out for morning in the living room.

These nap mats come with everything you need for a nap. A pillow is in a nice soft minky pillow case, with a velcro closure on it, so it will not just fall out. The padding is 2 inches thick and nice and soft. The blanket is double think minky so it is super soft. They are 53 inches long. So no fear for your little ones needs. They can be used for a while! They have nice easy to use ties on them. My kids actually have a sleep over planned next weekend at my moms house. I know that these will be going with them. They are so great.

Crayon Rocks Review

Anyone with young children know how frustrating it can be for your little ones to start using crayons to color. Not only are kids curious and putting everything it seems in their mouths. Because as we have all figured out, things must pass a taste test to the kids before they know they can use them.

I also know that it can be frustrating to learn how to color with a "normal" shaped crayon. What I love is that these wonderful little rock creations are perfect for any size hand to use for coloring, and drawing.

Other things that are great about Crayon Rocks you ask? They are made with all natural soy beans. Here is the best part. Made right here in the USA! They are colored with mineral pigments. What else you ask? They were designed to help strengthen the tripod grip muscles. This will help prepare little hands for writing. These wonderful colors can be layered nicely to make great textured artwork. They are also used by occupational therapists to help children better develop their fine motor skills.

For free shipping from now until March 30th, please use the coupon code: BLOGGER

I will definitely not be worried about my little one using them. To find out more information about Crayon Rocks click here

Sap! Review

I watch a lot of Shark Tank. It is actually one of my favorite shows to watch with my husband on a Sunday night. When I seen the pitch for Sap! I knew from the reaction of the sharks, I had to try it myself. The concept of  maple syrup being used to make a soda was just intriguing to me. So when it came in the mail, I put it in the fridge right away. I waited a couple hours just to make sure it was nice and cold and went to grab a can to try. I loved the way it was packaged. The can snaps off easy, and they are not flimsy like the ones you see on an average soda pack.

I first tried Sap! Maple Soda, I went in expecting it to be this over powering taste of maple syrup. And much to my surprise, it was a very light and tasty drink. I would compare it to a ginger ale, but with a maple syrup flavor. It was not over powering. It was crisp, and very delicious. I let both my kids try it. Both of them were loving it. I was loving how simple the ingredients are. Carbonated Organic Maple Syrup, and Non-GMO Citric Acid. That is it! There is nothing in the can that you can not pronounce. Personally, it makes me feel much better about what not only what I am putting in my body, but also my families.

Sap! Maple Seltzer is the next drink I want to talk about. It is slightly lighter then the soda, but still tastes just as good. These are great on the go drinks. The ingredients are the same as above. This would be great on a warm summer day to help keep hydrated. My boys both also tried this one, and loved it. There is a perfect amount of carbonation and flavor.

If you are looking for something a little different, but just as good. And good for you, I would suggest trying Sap! Birch Sparkling. They call this the anti soda. It has antioxidants from polyphenols. Is an anti-inflammatory from the natural salicylates. Anti-aging from the natural resveratrol, which actually has three times the amount found in red wine. Also, an anti cavity from the naturally occuring xylitol. This is not as sweet as the soda, and it shouldn't be because it is not. Also, the ingredients are different: Organic Birch Sap, Co2, and Citric Acid.

All of the Sap! products are USDA organic, non gmo, gluten free, zero added sugar, and farmer crafted!

Kinderfeets Review

My boys both love riding bikes SO much. We have had over a foot of snow on the ground, and they are still trying to take their bikes out to try and ride them. It is their favorite thing to do in the summer. Our issue is, my younger son, who is only two right now, isn't really old enough or coordinated enough to use peddles yet. They just end up getting in the way, hitting his legs. It can be awful some days.

I was so happy when given the chance to try a Kinderfeets trike for my kids. We chose to go with the CargoTrike. I am so happy this is the bike we got. It is perfect size for my two year old son. He is so happy on it. And with all the snow outside right now, and us having basically a perfect trike path throughout our home, it has been being used constantly. My four year old has even gotten on it. Though he is to big for it, he still was a bit jealous that he didn't have a bike of his own to play on.

We use this bike right now as the clean up bike. I tell them to ride wherever they want in the house, and find all the toys and put them in the box in the front. It works for the perfect game for both of my kids to really want to clean up. It can hold SO many hot wheels. I can't even tell you how many toys they have put into the bike to clean up, and try to hold off for even longer at the end of the night for bed time.

As for assembly. The bike does not come assembled. But comes with everything you need to put it together. Including the allen wrenches, one with a screw driver on the end that you will need to put everything together. I am not super great at doing these things, but when my kids seen the box for it. I knew it was on me to try and get it together. The instructions were great. They had written and picture instructions. Which can really be helpful depending on who you are. I used both just to ensure that I was doing it correctly. I would say if you are good at putting things together this will take no more then fifteen minutes. I however, had two little ones that were super excited around me, to add to me not being great at putting things together. I took about a half hour before I let my husband finish putting the wheels on.

I really like that Kinderfeet's bikes come with a limited warranty. So you don't have to stress about the what if's. Once put together this bike is very sturdy. And so stinking cute. My kids would not stay still long enough to let me take a picture of them. Most of their days are not spent taking turns zooming around the house on their bike.

BabyDam Review

Bath time with little ones can get so stressful. So much water in the tub. I am constantly worried about my kids drowning if they go under for even a split second. I actually gave my oldest baths in the sink until he was well over a year old. Closer to two. All because I was so paranoid about him going under water, or slipping. I tried the laundry basket in the tub, and it didn't always help. So when I seen BabyDam, I was so excited to try it.

My oldest is almost five now, so his need isn't as great for this for safety reasons anymore. My youngest is two, and still benefits greatly from this. I have a rule when my kids are in the tub that they get water only to their belly buttons so that there isn't so much waste of water, and they are a bit safer if they do go down. I hate how much extra water gets wasted for a young child to take a bath.

I also have used this to separate my kids in the tub. I install it so each kid gets half of the tub, then fill up each side, and let them each have a side. Then they no longer can push shove and fight in the tub. It works great for that as well.

If you would like to find out more about this product, please click here.

Note: This picture is not my own, my dog would not stop trying to jump in the tub when I was trying to take my own photos. He ended up getting a bath instead.

Sensory Goods Weighted Blanket Review

Weighted blankets have been used to help people with autism, but they also can be used for so many other things. Growing up I had a few very heavy blankets, that would really help me calm down when my anxiety was higher. I have been looking personally for a weighted blanket for my oldest son because he has so many issues with sleeping through the night. I thought we should give it a try. Sensory Goods was kind enough to send this fourteen pound large blanket for my family to try out.

I didn't really know how large this blanket would be, so I had my husband who is 6'1" try it out first just to see if it would cover his body. I had a little bit of trouble getting it back from him, because even though the blankets weight to his weight ratio is off, he said he felt calmer immediately.

We put it on my sons bed, and we were so surprised on how warm the blanket actually is. I thought we would need to put another blanket on him, but he was fine with just this one blanket. Jason was completely content being in his bed with this on. It was not to heavy and we just made sure to keep his shoulders and above out of the blanket. He went to sleep very peacefully, and slept through the night without getting up a bunch of times. A typical night in our household is him waking up two hours after bed time, and staying up through out the night. He rarely gets a good nights rest. So it was great to us to have him be able to get some restful sleep. This blanket now stays on Jason's bed, and he is so happy about it. He loves the colors.

There are many more color choices and weight choices they have for blankets. They even tell you on their site how to calculate it.

Kiss Naturals Review

My boys and I love to craft things. We together do so much baking. I personally love acting like a mad scientist and trying different things to see if they will work. Sometimes they work great. Some times they flop. My boys are definitely following in my foot steps with this. With it being winter time, we do a lot more indoor activities. Which can get pretty pricey running to the hobby stores to figure out what activity you want to try next. And then purchasing everything for it, and maybe loving it. Maybe not loving it. It can get stressful on a stay at home mom budget. So when I was able to try out four of the kits from Kiss Naturals, I was so excited!

Kiss Naturals has multiple kits that you can order from them. They are all reasonably priced. And they even have mini kits. I received four different kits to try:

I decided to have my niece try out the lava lip gloss kit with a friend to see how she liked it, and because lip gloss would become paint for my boys. She and her friend were excited to try it, even as teenagers, they thought that it was pretty cool. These are aimed to six and up, but can be fun for any age. With the easy to follow instructions, they made their lip glosses, and actually loved how they turned out. They don't just end up feeling like cheap play makeup for little ones. With the all natural ingredients, they actually turn into quality product.

My boys chose to try the soap making kit first. Which, with it being cold and flu season right now, and a harsh one at that. What kind of parent would I be to not encourage them to wash their hands more?
I got the kit all out, and started checking out the instructions. The soap kit makes sixteen soaps. Which worried me that we would be there for a while at first, because even though I was ready to play mad scientist, I was also needing to make dinner soon. But, thankfully they have instructions to make two soaps at a time. So we did just that. This will also help the kits last longer, and not let product go to waste.

I let each of the boys help me, I broke off one chunk of the glycerine and followed all the instructions. I thought it was great that this kit comes with everything you need to make it. Down to the little spatula to mix your color and scent in. My older son wanted to pick out the scent, he went for jasmine. Which then left my younger son picking out color, which was blue. This kit came with two scents and two colors. So all of your soap can be different. I had each of them help me with different steps through out the process and they loved it. Then both kids picked out a mold to pour the soap into, I did the pouring, and silly me didn't get the beak on the penguin, so it just looks like the back end of a penguin. But having boys, my older son Jason thought it was hilarious that he got to wash his hands with a penguin butt.

We let them dry while we made and ate dinner. My kids kept wanting to check them out, and thought they were so cool. After they were completely hardened. Which I waited longer then recommended time just to be safe, my kids were having  a hard time letting me take a few pictures. All they wanted to do was wash their hands. They were begging to take a bath to be able to use their new soaps.

Both of them were so happy, and it really has helped them want to wash their hands more, and spend more time washing in the tub because they actually made it themselves rather then buying it. The molds are super cute. And I love that you know exactly what is in them because it is all natural.

I think these kits would be great for:

  • Snow days
  • Sleep overs
  • Family Time
  • Science lessons
  • Overall just to have some fun

Wink Shapewear Review and Giveaway!

Since having three c sections, my body seems to have decided it doesn't want to look the same as it did 13 years ago. I have a huge problem with getting rid of all of my belly fat, which not only feels uncomfortable, but doesn't look as attractive as I once feel I was. When I had my last c section I spent a lot of time in a compression wrap from the doctor to try and help me get back to normal. It was awful. You could see it under all of my clothes, it had this awful Velcro so if you moved the wrong way you would hear that loud RIP and every one around would look at you. I ended up stopping and still sometimes struggle with pain and discomfort.

Wink shapewear has so many options to sleekly help form your body and put things back in the places where they belong. I was lucky enough to receive two items from wink shapewear. The first one I want to write about today is the tummy tucker tank top. This tank top is made of tight compression material, it also has a nice thick band along the bottom so it will not ride up on you or roll when you are wearing it. This is perfect for every day wear. It is not uncomfortable to have on under your clothes. I am used to wearing a tank top anyway. This only takes a few minutes to get use to the compression material.

The second item I received was the Belly Blaster.  This has two layers of compression material, and fits flat under your clothes. It is great to hide back fat rolls. It has hook eye closures on the side and in the crotch to make it easier to go to the bathroom. Will stay up without assistance with the suspenders. It fits comfortably and seems like it is made very well. Not cheaply like others I have seen. I think this will be great for date night with my husband to hide what I don't need the world knowing about.
The product I received both came in this type of packaging, which I thought was super cute and simple. Just be sure to check their size chart to make sure you are sizing up correctly to what you need. Scrubz Body Review

Sugar scrub is probably one of my favorite things to use for exfoliation. I have in the past tried to make my own, it never worked in the past. And  a lot I have used in the past, have always left me feeling greasy in the end. So I was a bit skeptical when I tried Scrubz Body.

I was so amazed when I first even opened the box. It was like I was getting a little gift of happiness. I then decided I couldn't wait and I wanted to open it and check out the scent right away, I chose Citrus Zest. I was surprised that there was no oil smells, it just smelled like grapefruit, and oranges, maybe a hint of lemon. My husband seems to think it smells like lemons more then I do. I wasn't even near a sink, and of course, I had to put my fingers in it. It felt like sugar and silk. It was so great. Typically, you can feel like a coat of oil left on your skin. I couldn't with Scrubz Body.
The sugar is more coarse to really help exfoliate where ever you use it. And you can use this from head to toe! I think that is a great feature. I haven't actually used it on my face yet, but I will. I have used it pretty much every where else. I felt so good after ward. I used it to shave my legs in the shower. I didn't knick myself once. And my legs felt so smooth afterwards. I definitely love this. I smelled so good for so long after, much longer then when I use my body wash.
