Pressman And Goliath Games Review

My kids and I play games a lot. I love to have a variety to keep things fresh and not returning to the same game every single day. So when I had the chance to work with Goliath and Pressman Games, I was so excited. My kids were so excited when they seen me pulling new games out of the box that they have been wanting to play.

The first game we played was, Doggie Doo. This game is rated for ages four and up, but with a little help my two and a half year old could play too. This game isn't only fun for the kids, but also teaches them about being responsible for their pets. You start by feeding the dog a piece of dog food or treat made from a dough type substance. Each player takes turns rolling the dice, you may have to squeeze the leash, skip your turn or you can switch shovels with another player. The person to collect three doggie doo's win. My kids thought it was hilarious making the doogie doo.
My kids of course wanted to play, Catch the Fox next. You start by doing a little assembly. My kids are very impatient, but they did finally let me get the game set up. You roll the die to see how many chickens you need to put in the foxes pants, you then push on the foxes head one time to end your turn, if the foxes pants do not drop you continue until they do. Once the foxes pants drop each player tries to be the first to fill their coop up with chickens. You can only use one hand though. This game is also rated for 4 and up, but again my younger son could play this game with us. And we all giggled the entire time.

Lastly, we played Shark Bite. This game also took a little bit of set up, but not to bad at all. Each player takes turns rolling the dice and trying to rescue out the fish from inside the sharks mouth. If the shark jumps out of the water you lose. This game is also rated for four and up. Both my kids could also play this game with a little help. We laughed so hard each round when the shark did jump. It is great because there are no batteries required.

I love that I grew up with great games from these companies, and now my kids get to as well. If you would like to find out more about these three games or any other games please click the names, and you will be directed to each link. Goliath or Pressman.

Aroma Ridge Review

As a mom of two very active little boys, coffee is my life. I have my coffee pot set up to brew before I wake up in the morning, so there is no wait time for me to get that first sip in the morning. I drink coffee through the majority of my day. And I am a huge coffee snob. I am very particular with what I like. I have even changed my husband's coffee drinking ways from not so great beans, to only the great. Because coffee is serious business. So when looking at Aroma Ridges website, I was curious about what they had for coffee, and was excited to try it out!

The first blend I tried was the Mama's Roast.  I could smell the strength right through the bag! It is for the people who really like a stronger cup of coffee in the morning, or afternoon, or evening. Who am I to judge? This blend is described as, " This top secret blend is a bold, sweet combination of 3 estate coffees." This blend is most definitely bold. Which is exactly how I like my coffee, especially right in the morning. I have found myself being able to drink more then one pot of this in a day sometimes. Even though it is bold, it is not acidic at all. A very smooth blend. Which is perfect for me, because I don't like acidic coffee.

Baba's Roast, I tried a few days later, so I could give Mama's Roast a fair shot (or maybe I just REALLY love it!) I made it for the first pot of the morning and packed it with my husband for work, and made a second pot, he commented that he really loved this coffee. Claiming that it was one of the best pots I have ever made. I told him it was a different roast of coffee. He was amazed. Baba really is onto something with this blend. It is delicious. It doesn't taste as bold as the Mama's Roast, but still equally as great! Baba's Roast is described as, "As you may know, we are family owned and Dad (or "Baba" as he is most commonly known) has invented a blend like no other.
By taking three highend estates from around the world, blending the greatness of each, then roasting to medium-dark Dad, created an outstanding coffee.
Move over Alexander Fleming, make room for Dad! For those under a rock...Alexander Fleming invented penicillin in 1928."

Aroma Ridge also does great fundraiser's to help people with their different fundraiser ideas, you can find out more about these by clicking here.

Another thing I think is very neat from Aroma Ridge, they do personalized coffee, where you can create your own labels, which are great for all different occasions. If you would like to know more about this, please click here

Spooner Board Review

When I received The Spooner board in the mail, I didn't know what to think. But, I was excited to play with it.  Both my kids reminded me, that we have to share and everyone needs to take a turn. I started by playing with it on the carpet. I realized quickly what a good workout you can get just from playing with the spooner board. My two and a half year old had so much fun spinning it around on the carpet. My almost five year old and him took turns spinning each other around and fast as they could go.

My husband gave it a try on our laminate floor. It was a bit slicker for him there, so if you are going to try on a surface that isn't carpeted I do suggested playing on it with carpet under you first to get the hang of it.

The spooner board has come many places with us already. When we go to the park, the kids want to bring it. When we go to families house, the spooner board does too. And any one around us wants to check it out and see what tricks they can preform on it.

These are great for:

  • Adults and children alike with a 500 lb weight limit
  • Promoting body awareness, and motor skills
  • Can be used with shoes, barefoot, or with just socks
  • Can be used on all surfaces, just make sure you are aware of slicker surfaces.

Snap Circuit's Review

My sons fifth birthday is coming up in the next week. I have been looking at different new toys for him to have for his birthday. He is constantly want to tinker with different things, and loves figuring out how things work, so when I found out about Snap Circuits I knew it would be the perfect toy for my little beginner.
Snap Circuits has multiple kits you can get for your kids to be able to get into some hands on learning. Each kit can do multiple things. The kit I received has twenty different ways to set it up to do different things. My son things the light is so cool. He did need a little help at first to get the hang of what was going on, but was soon on his own.
The thing I think I appreciate the most about Snap Circuits kit's are the directions are not written so younger ones such as my son who is just learning how to read can work on his "projects" more independently. This really helps with his self confidence.

Glowbug Review

I will admit, I have used a lot of disposable diapers on my son. I was very misinformed when I was pregnant. When I thought of a cloth diaper, I thought of the little pins, and having to learn how to fold the diaper just right.

I then stumbled upon Glow Bug Cloth Diapers. These diapers are amazing. Let me tell you a bit more about them. Each diaper has enough snaps to fit four different sizes, which is a size bigger then your average cloth diaper. It also has three sets of rise snaps, to make for a better fit for your child.

Another thing I like about glow bug diapers, is they come in adorable designs. My son spends a lot of time in just a diaper. He doesn't like to really wear clothing. So, I hate when he is just running around in a disposable diaper. When he plays outside in one, the diaper ends up getting ruined from the dirt and everything, so you have to change it, even if it isn't necessary. Which to me is just money down the drain.

I also love the fact that when my son is wearing this diaper, I don't have to worry about putting something else on him for when he wants to play in the pool and the water. So the cost of those expensive swim diapers, out the door.

I like that they fit under his clothes well. And with the 360 degree gusset, I don't have to worry about him leaking through his clothes. My little guy is one heavy wetter. Wetting through the average diaper, sometimes within an hour. He usually will wake up soaked in the morning or after a nap, but with this diaper, I have not seen him wet through yet.
I would highly recommend glow bug diapers to anyone having a baby, or even anyone who still has a baby in diapers.

I would like to also add, if you have any questions about making the change. The website is very resourceful in helping you make the right decision. Without trying to sell you anything else.

Hape Toys Review and Giveaway

I am always looking for fun, safe, and new toys for my kids. Ones that will help them learn, while having fun. I was so happy when I was given the chance to let my boys each try a toy from Hape Toys. The first one I would like to talk about is the Farm Animal Puzzle and Play Both of my kids love puzzles, and this is so much more then a puzzle. And much better then puzzles I have seen in the past.

The farm animal puzzle and play features fully painted pieces, that are accurate. The dog piece is my personal favorite. I don't know if it is because I love dogs so much, or if it is because there is a dog tush on the back of the piece. I was so surprised when I first started playing with my son, and he flipped it over. Typically what I have seen in other wooden puzzles is the pieces are not painted through out.

Another thing I really enjoy about the farm animal puzzle and play, is that the flip side of it is painted as well, and the animals can stand up and you can play a little farm scene with them. I think that this is amazing, as the toy is now multi purpose. I have never seen another wooden puzzle that is nearly as cool as this one. Both my four year old and my two year old enjoyed playing with either side of it.

Hape Toys also let me check out their Flexistix Truss Crane which is perfect for my son who will be five at the end of this month. We took it out of the box together and he was so excited to try and put it together. He has only really played with blocks, so the thought of him being able to build something more complex, along with the fact that he LOVES cranes was great.

He loved that the instructions didn't require a bunch of reading, and so did I. He could work on this at the table while I was making dinner with minimal help from me. He was able to measure everything out right on the instruction booklet which was really helpful.
I also really loved how there were two bags for pieces, to help keep everything organized. These yellow bamboo sticks were in all sorts or sizes, making it easy to not just build what the kit is for, but to let you and your children's imagination go wild and make whatever they feel like.

The connectors are so soft and squishy. They are great to help connect whatever you need to put in place.

Overall, both my kids love their new toys from Hape. And the fact that there are no batteries needed, no chargers or electrical outlets, really make their dad and I happy. If you would like to find out more about either of these great products, and many more please click here.

Eat To Win Review

My family loves to play board games. They are a great way to spend time together as a family, and especially with our Michigan winters we really need new and fun games to play to help rid ourselves of the winter blues. So when I heard about Eat to Win, I knew we needed to check it out!

Eat to Win is a interactive and fun game that will get you off your rear and get it into gear with forty activity and trivia cards, twenty challenge cards, six game pieces, fun money, thirty food tokens, a die, and a game board. This game teaches the importance of nutrition, healthy eating and exercise. You will have so much fun playing, you won't even realize you are learning at the same time.

I set up the game for my almost five year old and I to play. I was so happy about the way the board would lay flat, and it looked like it would be so much fun to be able to go through the board. I also really like that they have a money holder for the banker right into the box. My favorite part about being banker is having it organized.

The object of the game is to be the first player to Weigh In with the most amount of money. My son and I went through the game, and had a great time playing. There are a few different ways to earn money in the game. It also shows you healthy ways of eating, and gives examples of healthy snacks for you and your child to have. My son had a great time being able to get up and move, and thought it was fun answering the different trivia questions. I enjoyed that he was not just sitting around, and was learning while having fun.

If you would like to purchase this game for your family, please click here.
