A few years ago, I worked in a nursing home. There were many people there that I met that either came over themselves, or their family came over from the Netherlands. I remember a good majority of these wonderful people having stroopwafels in their snack drawers in their rooms. I always was so curious on these sweet snacks, and what they were all about.
A little about Daelmans:
My kids were so excited when the package came in, and they seen that it was a sweet treat. I immediately opened the caramel stroopwafels, and gave one to each kid. They love them. I couldn't get enough of the honey stroopwafels. Before today, I had never tried them warmed up or even with my coffee, which is the more traditional to eat them. As they are meant to be more gear towards breakfast, or even a small dessert. They are even better when they have been steamed over your coffee for a minute or two.
Stroopwafels themselves were invented in the 18th century. They are much thinner then a traditional waffle. And have a syrup filling. They are not messy to eat, and the whole family is sure to love them. Especially with the different flavors you can get now. I love that Daelmans are made in the Holland, so you know that you are getting authentic Dutch delicious treats.
Those flavors include:
Daelmans even has mini stroopwafels.
