GeoMag Review- Holiday Gift Guide

With Christmas being right around the corner, I love finding toys that are also things that will get my boys thinking. My older son is really into anything he can build or put together. He loves using his hands to figure out how things should go. He is very much just like his dad. So when I was given the chance to check out GeoMag Mechanics Shoot and Catch set I was over the moon.

The GeoMag Mechanics Shoot and Catch set has 243 pieces. Which has everything you need to set up an amazing track to run magnetic spheres through the track. This is a fantastic stem toy. So your kids don't even realize that when they are playing they are learning. My husband and I took this set out when my kids went to bed so we could check it out first. Now this toy is rated on Amazon for ages 7 to 18. My husband and I are clearly over 18, and we both we having so much fun putting it together and playing with it. Another positive to the Shoot and Catch, no need for batteries or electricity. So there is no replacing any batteries. That is always a great thing for me.

This set includes:

  • 11 magnetic rods
  • 36 steel spheres
  • 196 plastic mechanical elements
I love that this set can be used to get your child's young minds thinking. They can learn about gravity and do a lot of process of elimination questioning while building this set. They are so cool!

If you would like to order this for your little ones for the holiday, you can order by clicking here right on Amazon. Or to check out the Geomag website, please click here

The Magical Tales Book Review- Holiday Gift Guide

As the Holiday's approach, I love finding new and fun Holiday stories to read to my boys. I was so thankful when I was given the chance to check out two great choices from The Magical Tales. They sent me a Christmas book called, "The Magical Tale of Santa Dust" as well as a great Jewish option called, " The Magical Tale of The Friendship Dreidel."

The first book I would like to talk about is, "The Magical Tale of Santa Dust."  This book answers all of the questions your children ask as they grow. "How will Santa know where I am?" Which is a common question every year in my household. My son is always concerned with everything about Santa. I love that it comes with a package of magical Santa dust to sprinkle before bed on Christmas Eve. I read the book to myself, and I know that this Christmas Eve, my kids are going to be so happy with our new tradition.

I personally love being able to teach my kids about all different religions as much as possible. So they know that it is ok to not be the same as everyone else around them. So receiving "The Magical Tale of The Friendship Dreidel" was fabulous so I could teach them a little bit more about traditions in the Jewish Religion. This book follows two friends, who learn about how important sharing is. The magical pouch comes with four gelt coins, one dreidel, and instructions on how to play the game. My oldest and I read this book one night together so far, and learned how to play. He had a blast.

If you would like to find out more about these two great books and other from The Magical Tales, please click here. Or, you can buy them from Amazon, by clicking the links above.

Open Road Snacks Popcorn Review

My family is all huge popcorn lovers. My boys will ask nightly for popcorn for a nightly snack, which my husband always appreciates because that means I will make him some too. There are some nights, I just don't feel like making popcorn. Or even when we go camping. I just don't feel like lugging out a popcorn machine to make them popcorn. I was so happy when we were given the chance to check out Open Road Snacks popcorn. My favorite flavor personally was the White Cheddar. It was the perfect amount of season per piece. My whole family ate a bag in one movie night. I had to hide my second bag to enjoy when everyone is sleeping.

My kids both enjoyed the Bare Naked option. It tasted great. It is lightly salted. So enough to give you a little flavor on your taste buds. Without worrying about so much extra sodium.

My husband tried the Jalapeno Cheddar. He is huge into having a little extra spice. I tried a piece too. And as someone who isn't huge on spicy, it had a great balance. It was close to the White Cheddar, but with a little kick.

The Classic Butter option I grabbed one night when I just wanted a small snack. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did. It was delicious. There was a perfect amount of butter flavor on it. And lightly salted. I ended up eating half the bag without realizing it. You have been warned! It is addicting!

Artful Playdate Review

My friends and I love having play dates for our kids. The issue is, we don't always have something fun and creative for them to do. And things can get boring. Also, with it coming into a nice cold Michigan winter, I love having different activities to do in the house so I don't have to worry about my two boys going stir crazy. I had stumbled upon Artful Playdate, and was so excited to have the chance to check them out. I was sent five different boxes to check out.

When the boxes arrived, it was the day before a play date with my best friend and her son. So it was perfect timing. Now a days all the kids seem to want to do is play video games or some other type of electronics all the time. Artful Playdate boxes seem to help them want to do something that will help the kids use their imagination. My friends son loves pirates. So since they were our guest and we let him choose, that is the box he chose. My son was happy with that selection. I didn't realize how much stuff there is for the kids to create in the box, which then they spent hours playing with. The pirate box includes:

  • Color your own bandanas
  • Create your own pirate hook
  • Eye patches
  • Daggers
  • Make your own telecopes
  • Treasure Maps with coins and foam stickers.
Each box includes a secret scroll to take your kids on their own fun adventure.

The Rockstar dude box includes:

  • Vests
  • Cuffs
  • Headbands
  • Make your own microphone
  • Make your own song books
  • Stickers

Superpower girls includes:

  • Masks
  • Cuffs
  • Capes
  • Make you own comic books
  • Foam shapes and markers to decorate

Superpower boys includes:

  • Masks
  • Cuffs
  • Capes
  • Make you own comic books
  • Foam shapes and markers to decorate

Rockstar Diva includes:

  • Vests
    • Cuffs
    • Headbands
    • Make your own microphone
    • Make your own song books
    • Stickers

All boxes are rated for ages 3 and up. And all of them come with a secret scroll to help your kids keep their imagination going. The boys played for about 5 hours together with the pirates set without a problem. And it was nice to be able to allow my friends son to leave with a little gift. They are so excited for next time as well.

Squishy Kiosk Review and Giveaway - Holiday Gift Guide

One thing I have learned this year with my two boys, Squishy's are all the rage. All of the kids have them and all of the kids want them. But, as a mom on a serious budget, I like finding the best deals on them. My oldest son uses them to help relieve his stress when we have long appointments coming up, or even his x-rays or other hard to handle medical treatments that are just apart of his life on a regular basis. And with them being so cute, of course the boys want to collect all of them.

Squishy Kiosk was nice enough to let me check out the Surprise Squishy Box.  My kids are not picky about what squishy's they get so to get a surprise box, they were excited! The box contains ten different squishy's from the Squishy Kiosk warehouse. They are chosen completely randomly. And are a fantastic gift for any squishy collector.

I swear they know what I like! I have a teeth obsession. Teeth are my favorite part of anyone. And in the surprise box came a cute little squishy tooth. My kids were so over joyed to be able to split up the box of squishy's between the two of them. They are super cute, and don't seem to be cheaply made. I mean, they have made it through my house with two rough and tough boys and have yet to break open or anything. I love that the surprise box is under twenty dollars so it isn't a super expensive gift.

    Wise Owl Outfitters Hammock Review

My husband is an avid outdoors-man. He loves just being outside. Almost all of his free time is out fishing, playing in the woods, camping and exploring. For some reason we have always talked about getting hammocks that we could set up anywhere but had yet to get one. So when I was given the chance to check one out from Wise Owl Outfitters, I knew he would be so excited.

I gave him the hammock so he could check it out. He was so happy with it. Just how small it can get to walk with. Just throw it in your backpack (or truck, because that is where his went) and go. It's max weight load is 400 lbs, so you don't have to worry about it not being sturdy enough. He was gifted a hammock for his birthday that came with a stand, and his second time laying on it the stitching came loose and ripped. With the Wise Owl SingleOwl Hammock, you don't have to worry about that. It has triple interlocking stitching for superior strength. It is nine feet long and four and a half feet wide, so even if you are super tall you have plenty of room in this hammock. It only weighs one pound, so you don't have to worry about it being a burden to have in your backpack. It also includes two eight foot nautical grade ropes and two steel carabiner clips for easier hanging.

My husband has been bringing this on fishing and camping trips with him any time he goes. He already has plans to bring it up north to deer camp so he can hang out in it when he isn't out in a tree.

    Pizootz Peanuts Review

My husband has a huge love for peanuts. I don't love plain peanuts myself. I do however love a flavored peanut. And we were so excited when we were able to try Pizootz Peanuts. We had a movie night over the weekend, and decided to try Pizootz as our movie snack choice. So I grabbed a bag of each flavor to check out. I first opened the Baja Taco flavor. I was amazed not only that they are delicious, but that there is no mess on your fingers after words. They taste like a taco but in a peanut form. My husband and I both loved them. There was just enough kick to them.

The Sea Salt and Cracked Pepper nuts had the perfect amount of Salt and Pepper flavor. Not to spicy, not to salty. Both of us enjoyed them. Usually Salt and peppered things have to much pepper flavor for me, but these were perfect.

The Jalapeno peanuts were much to spicy for me, but if you need a little spice in your life these are the peanuts for you! My husband said they were tasty, and not overly spicy.

New York Dill Pickle Peanuts are definitely my jam! They are so delicious. I had a hard time sharing these with my husband. And once I did, I knew I made a terrible mistake. He loved them just as much as I did. So they went fast.

Salt and Vinegar were my over all favorite out of all the flavors I tried. But Salt and Vinegar chips are my favorite chip. They have a lot more vinegar taste then salt, but that is ok with me.

My husband was stingy with the Blazin' Buffalo. I was able to try literally one peanut he loved them so much. It was like I was eating the worlds smallest buffalo chicken wing. They are so delicious.

The Sea Salt peanuts are a classic, but they don't leave the salt all over your fingers. They taste like they have been soaked in a delicious soak brine. Even though the classic peanut isn't my favorite. This is a whole new twist on an old classic.

Habanero Peanuts were split between my husband and best friend as she had come over to hang out with us too. They both can handle the heat. I however can not. They both loved them. And neither of them went for the milk either. My best friend said that she loved that there was nothing stuck on her fingers. Because she has had incidents with rubbing her eye after eating hot things. And the burn is out of control..

I honestly didn't know what to expect when it came to the Bay Spice peanuts. But it reminded me of a delicious gumbo. They were so good. It was hard for us to put any of the flavors down.

    Handi Hanger Review

Plastic grocery bags can fill up my house. I don't know what to always do with them. I reuse them for bathroom trash cans, I take them and bring them back to the store to recycle. Or keep reusing them. But sometimes, especially when shopping for my family of eaters for groceries, I end up with to many extra in a month. So finding Handi Hanger was fantastic. A big problem we have, is there is no easy way to hang a plastic grocery bag to use it as a trash bag. But with the Handi Hanger, you can easily hang it anywhere. We decided that we could use ours in my husbands garage so he can throw his dirty rags in it, rather then all over his garage. Making it easier for me to locate and wash all of them for him in a timely manner. It has been so convenient to be able to just throw them all in one spot. We have always used grocery bags for this, but sometimes he just cant make it in. Or he gets frustrated that the bag is not open for him and throws them where ever.

You can literally hang this anywhere. I think we will be purchasing another Handi Hanger for in our camper bathroom and kitchen area. It helps save so much space.

    SleepZzz Pillow Review

Ok, so truth time. I was a co sleeping parent. I know all the rules and warnings and everything else. But I still co slept with my kids. My oldest moved to his own bed at about two and a half. My youngest was about two when he finally moved into his own bed. But ever since they have moved to their own beds, they wake up constantly in the middle of the night. So I end up out of bed nightly reassuring them that they are ok. My youngest, Dwayne is the worst. Some nights he will wake up multiple times a night. He was always so used to me sleeping with my arm around his neck. So when I discovered SleepZzz pillows, I was so excited to be able to give them a try.

Dwayne was so excited when the box arrived and I told him it was his new special pillow. He couldn't wait for me to get the box open, and then the bag (hence the not perfect pictures). As soon as I got the pillow out of the package, he wanted to be wrapped up like the "little girl on the picture." So I did. He was so excited. I was so amazed at how soft the cover is to the pillow. The SleepZzz is basically a body pillow for kids. It is rated for ages 3 and older. The real test was the first couple nights of sleep. He was more excited then normal to go to bed on night one, and again asked me to lay one side of the SleepZzz pillow over his arm. I went and checked on him fifteen minutes later, when he is usually still up talking to himself in his room. He was passed out. I continued to check on him through out the night because I am that worry wart mom. He slept comfortably all night on night one! He woke up in a much better mood.

The only downside to this pillow is not having one for both kids, yet. My oldest son who is 5.5 was and is so mad about not having a SleepZzz pillow of his own. He has stolen Dwayne's multiple times and tried to hide it under his blankets. When I asked him why he wants his brothers pillow so much he responds the same way each time. "The pillow is so soft and cozy mom! And it wraps around your body like a hug. I want to be hugged all night too."

The SleepZzz pillows are filled with a good quality fiber fil so your pillow will last longer. And the cover is removable to make it easier to keep clean. If you would like to check out SleepZzz pillows and other great products from them, please click here. Or, if you would like to order on Amazon, please click here.

Karma Game Review- Holiday Gift Guide

With it coming into fall, my husband and I love nothing more on a weekend, or sometimes even on a week night to get into a game nights. We play the games with the kids before it is their bed time, then after they are in bed we get into more competitive games together. We can spend hours playing card and board games. So when I was given the chance to check out the Karma Card Game collection I was so excited.

I was sent three different varieties of the game Karma. There is the Karma, Karma King and Karma Mini Round. This is a simple, yet fun game. There are Karma cards in each deck that play like wild cards. In the Karma King Version the Karma cards are a bit different and they even have make your own Karma cards. The object of the game is to not have any cards left in your hands. If you are the last one with cards, you lose. The game takes roughly 35 minutes per round. And is so much fun. You can also combine sets if you have more people playing.

The Karma Mini Round game is meant for 2 to 4 players, and is perfect to throw in your purse, or diaper bag so you can play while you are out to eat or hanging out in a coffee shop. This set takes roughly 15 minutes per round.

Karma King is being sold exclusively at Target stores. And you can find all of these games and many more from Set Games, here
You can also check out their Facebook page here.

    Magnatab Review- Holiday Gift Guide

With Christmas approaching I am always looking for gifts for my kids that do not involve electronics. It seems to be now a days all that kids want are the latest and greatest video game systems, and anything that needs a charger. Drives me nuts. I was so lucky when I was given the chance to check out the Magnatab and Glow in the Dark Magnatab on Playmonster. I immediately decided that I needed to check out what the Magnatab's were all about. I opened up the Glow in the Dark Magnatab to check it out first. This is the bigger out of the two Magnatab's. So my husband sat and watched me while I started playing. Him and I spent over a half hour taking turns playing with it back and forth. It is so simple to use. You simply dry with the stylus. To erase what you have done, you turn the stylus on it's side and slide it across the board.

    t
The Free Play Magnatab is a little smaller then the Glow in the Dark Magnatab, but it doesn't stop it from being any less fun. I actually figured it would work a little bit better for my three year old. Both Magnatab's have a little bit of weight to them since they are made of magnets. There were only a few times that I had a hard time getting the magnets to surface, but I think it was because I was moving the stylus to fast.

These Magnatab's are great for helping kids learn to write letters and numbers. Also these are great for holiday road trips. My kids can spend hours drawing different things, and my oldest loves being able to write his letters on it.

If you would like to find out more about the Free Play Magnatab, or the Glow in the Dark Magnatab, please visit Playmonster by clicking here.

DishFish Review and Giveaway- Holiday Gift Guide

Being a stay at home mom, I find myself cleaning up an insane amount of messes. Anything from the good old crayon or marker on walls, the fridge, or even the table. All the way to scrubbing greasy baked on food from pans. I mean I can't win at every meal right? I have had so many problems in the past with different sponges. I don't like how quickly a traditional sponge just gets nasty. I also don't like how a lot of them will scratch up your pots and pans. So when I read about DishFish, I of course felt like I needed to know more.

DishFish has a sponge or scrubber for anything you need! They come in several different sizes. So you can fit them anywhere. Use them for anything, or if you have kids, they have ones small enough that my 3 year old can use. DishFish has the Scrubber, as well as the dual Scrubber sponge. They have sizes large enough to be able to scrub your tires on your car. And Scrubber Sponges big enough to wash your whole car. Which my husband loves because we are constantly washing his vehicles. And they fit well in his large hands.

Based on laboratory testing, DishFish are stronger, more absorbent, and release food particles more effectively and quickly then their respective competitors. From what I have personally found, DishFish are fantastic at getting baked on food off my cookie sheets, and even out of my pans. I am really great at baking things onto my pans. And I absolutely HATE trying to clean them. I put a little soap on a DishFish dual scrubber sponge, and went on a dry pan with baked on food. It didn't even take a minute to get everything off the pan.

The DishFish Scrubber is 2.5 times more durable then its competitor. They are 4 times more efficient at releasing water. I know I have seen a lot of people complain about how the competitor scrubbers fall apart so quickly. I have personally tried them and I can use them up in a day because they seem to almost melt as you use them. I tried the DishFish Scrubber on many different jobs, and I am still on my first scrubber, even a couple weeks in. And it still looks as good as new.

I love the design of the DishFish. You are able to set this sponge or scrubber up on its "tail" to dry. And it works so well. No more smelly sponges in my kitchen. Or feeling like I need to get rid of them so quickly because of that stink. You know, the one that ends up transferring to your dishes.

The DishFish Dual is 10 times more durable then its leading competitor. 6 times more absorbent. Has a great single swipe absorbency. Which makes for cleaning up your kitchen after meals SO MUCH QUICKER. I took this to a clients house that I clean once a month so I could test it out on a bigger and different jobs then what I have here at home. I love them so much, I have been using them everywhere. Not only are they great to use, but their design is so cute.

The DishFish is so great, it even has the Good Housekeeping tried and tested approval.
